163 million years old with a wing span of 4.5 feet, the newly discovered fossil fragments unearthed in China have been dubbed the Kryptodrakon progenitor or Hidden Dragon, Father of the pterodactyls. This is the oldest known remains of flying dinosaurs.
"This finding represents the earliest and most primitive pterodactyloid pterosaur, a flying reptile in a highly specialised group that includes the largest flying organisms," said Chris Liu, programme director in the National Science Foundation's Division of Earth Sciences.Story source: Business Standard
